Can we see Alcyone B and C with the naked eye?
[edit]According to Arcsecond, the visual acuity of the human eye is about 1 arcminute (60 arcseconds). Does that mean that one can see Alcyone B, C and D as separate stars when looking at Alcyone without a telescope? (does someone have a picture of the cluster with pointers to the smaller Alcyones? Image:M45map.jpg just has the main star marked.) --Alvestrand 12:03, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- This site appears to show images of Alcyone A-D. Short answer, no, they're way too close to the A component and way too dim relative to it to be visible with the naked eye. Xihr 18:38, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
Interesting, although definitely not scientific in the least
[edit]According to the books of Job 38:31, 2 Chronicles 6:21, and the Jehovah's Witnesses "Reconciliation" (1928) (http://www.webshowplace.com/HeavensGate/ReconciliationP14.html), the Biblical God lives in the Pleiades. Might be useful for some trivia. 12.226.86.248 17:41, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
should someone change starbox short --> starbox ?
[edit]I went so far as to check if the current template (starbox short) has space for an image, but it does not. I wish I had the technical expertise to convert it to a full-fledged starbox, but alas, that day has not yet come. Or maybe I just wasn't bold enough? Anyway, someone could/should prob change it and embed the image that's currently lying underneath… —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cognatus (talk • contribs) 13:14, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
