Dubious - USS Oregon

This article incorporates text from the public domain Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships. The entry can be found here.

Like the parent article in the Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships, this article claims that Grant was commanding officer of the Oregon as a lieutenant commander. This is unlikely to be true - the Oregon was a battleship (a captain's command). Unfortunately I cannot find a list of commanding officers of the USS Oregon.--Toddy1 (talk) 10:49, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
