Attention all researchers
[edit]I am a senior English major at Towson University in an Editing class. The project requires the class to edit several American Editor stubs, and I am assigned to edit Albert Schinz's stub. I hope to better familiarize myself with Wikipedia since I am unfamiliar with the website's capabilities, as well as learn about the historical background of some of the lesser researched editors. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find credible information about Albert Schinz. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I can look for bibliographic information to add to this stub?

Comments and Suggestions
[edit]Hi Kcallan. I would suggest trying the research method recommended by our librarian at Towson. Links to his recommended sites are on Blackboard. I'll bet you can find titles of some of the works he edited, and maybe the years he studied at school and what his degrees are in. I also wonder when did he immigrate? Was he married? Since he was a philosopher, and some of his works have been translated, you could summarize the subject and gist of his philosophical approach as a scholar in that area. One thing I noticed in the article is that Schinz is an "American French and philosophical scholar." Does that mean he is ethnically American French, or he studies it? Should it be "scholar of American French and philosophy?" There are also some comma errors. Mportolano (talk) 12:16, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Mportolano
Hi Kelly,
I am very impressed with your work on Wikipedia. For someone who said that she is "confused" with the Wiki editing process, I think that you have done a great job! I corrected some minor errors on your Albert Schinz page. Other than that, you did a fine job. Anything else that I can recommend within the next two or three days, I will let you know. Bravo to you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mommyamma (talk • contribs) 18:03, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Kelly, You might want to reword the introductory paragraph (1st sentence). It is a little confusing. It says "of pneumonia'" before his birth and death. It would look better if that was more clear. Mommyamma (talk) 08:28, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Possible further exploration of Schinz
[edit]I have looked through some of my group member's cites and noticed some people were offering brief summaries of the texts written by their editors. Schinz is a philosopher, so would it be better if I were to add a new section briefly talking about pragmatism and Schinz's view against it, instead of offering a summary for each individual book?Kcallan16 (talk) 15:48, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

I am trying to add book titles to the list of works published by Albert Schinz, but I have obviously made an error in referencing the book that I added. I consulted the Wiki page listed in the error message, but I did not understand it at all. What am I doing wrong?
- You just forgot a {{reflist}} at the end of the article. A bot put it in for you, so no problem. Thank you for your contribution. ~ Matthewrbowker Say hi! 05:10, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
