[edit]This page is so bad I suggest it be wiped completely.
It is full of generalisations, and very little factual or useful information.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.123.128.114 (talk • contribs) 17 April 2007
Upgrade September 2009
[edit]I added much new information, reorganized sections, didn't take out much. I'm somewhat skeptical about the population growth number -- one SNZ statistic suggests the growth number is different, but I didn't trust the SNZ number, but kept the current one. I think this article needs more pictures. Also, I'm not a New Zealander, but I'm wondering whether some of the development projects in the article are duplicated in the "commercial activity" zone -- I worked quickly and it's possible I confused one or more developments; suggest someone check this.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 15:59, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
One more thing: I think a map showing the actual boundaries and major streets would be a good idea. I didn't find one yet but they should be available. Plus, some information about how big Albany is in terms of land size, what % residential, what % commercial, what % industrial, that sort of thing. --Tomwsulcer (talk) 16:02, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- I would hope that the integration of Wikipedia with OpenStreetMap will allow a suitable map to be included in the article in the near-to-middle future. See m:OpenStreetMap, and also Wikipedia:WikiProject OpenStreetMap. A map is available by clicking on the blue globe by the coordinates, or clicking on the coordinates themselves gives a choice of several mapping programs.-gadfium 20:15, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the links. I looked over this amazing new technology. Impressive. So it's best to wait for these maps to become more accurate and useable, and work on other things in the interim. And I clicked on the globe too -- didn't know there was a map there.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 02:34, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Picture?
[edit]Whats the point of the picture? I assumed It would be be of Albany. Turns out its a picture of Albany in a parallel universe. Not too useful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.224.100.90 (talk) 11:23, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
