Debate over active service
[edit]I have pulled the following edit summary from the edit logs so it can be found more easily here. An edit reversing claims that the AKNM was inactive was made, and claims of deactivation were rebutted as follows:
"As the Commander, Alaska Naval Militia, I have updated the inaccurate representation that the organization is "inactive". Quite the contrary, it deploys in support of ship visits, and deployed during the last Vigilant Guard Exercise in 2014." -Rmotzko
While this by itself does not resolve the issue as it's not a published source or verifiable, I would say that A. the Alaska Naval Militia has been active in the past, as the sources for the page describe, and B. no source citing it as having since become inactive has been provided, making these changes either original research or incorrect, either way being unsuitable for Wikipedia. By this rationale alone, it is proper policy to leave the AKNM as active unless proven otherwise, even without this claim. Et0048 (talk) 20:23, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
