[edit]If you didn't know who alan schlesinger was on Wednesday, you knew who he was on Thursday!!! This is the best thing that could have happened to the mayor!!! As to why the Gov and state GOP leaders are going against him is beyond me. But they just helped him win this seat. I know nothing about gambling, but I know enough to say that this is a non issue. Infact, this will make voters relate to the mayor much better.
If Rell is going to ask Schlesinger to get off her ticket because of a gambling code name, than Lisa Moody should have been fired months ago.
This is the only chance Republicans have to get this seat back. Why the hell are the top CT Republicans trying to blow it.
Prior to this incident, my intensions were to vote for Libermann to get back at the left wing liberals in this country. I love Joe, but I'm sticking home with my party and supporting ALAN SCHLESINGER for U.S. Senator from Connecticut!!!
As for Gov. Rell, she might still have my vote.
Well, don't know if it will help him, but either way, I paid service to his privacy claim in the article. -Umdunno 03:36, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Gambling Pun
[edit]"Thus far, Schlesinger has said that he will refuse to fold..." This unintentional but hilarious pun on the card-playing term may warrant revision. 71.232.162.100 00:50, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Jewish?
[edit]I was told by one of his campaign workers that Mr. Schlesinger is Jewish, though she didn't know from what stream. Can anyone confirm this? Elipongo 15:03, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, I know he is, but I can't help you out with a link, and I have no idea what stream. The other lawyer listed as Jewish on Google is a different Alan Schlesinger. You'd be pretty safe to mark him as a Jewish-American politician though, if you like. -Umdunno 16:53, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds reasonable, I added him to the Category:Jewish-American politicians. Until I have more referenced information, I am reluctant to change the actual content of the article to reflect this though.Elipongo 21:02, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Unknown Birthyear
[edit]I see where it is unknown how old Schlesinger. The New York Pravda, err..., Times says he's 48, so that at least narrows it down.[1]--Bedford 21:44, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Recent Reverts
[edit]The information being posted the Article is incorrect. Schlesinger has lost one senatorial race. The other losses that are posted are not correct. He didn't run or stepped down from a position to run for another seat. I noted resources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tenski82 (talk • contribs)
- Your edits did more than remove the unsourced losses. You have removed factual content (such as Schlesinger being the former Mayor of Derby, CT); removed standard wiki formatting from the opening paragraph; and added content about him that are not in any way neutral point of view. Please undo your revert and discuss changes here to achieve consensus. RA0808 talkcontribs 18:19, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
Ok... Schlesinger hasn't lost a campaign except for the Senate Race.
More information is noted about Schlesinger Gambling than anything else. That seems to be a little "one sided" don't you think?
- He hasn't lost any other election? What about this one? And yes, more information is needed. So why are you deleting what information there is? Tiller54 (talk) 23:51, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
Removal of negative content
[edit]Tenski82, please stop content from this page that you don't like. That there were various controversies stemming from his 2006 Senate run is relevant to his page. Continually removing sourced content will result in you being blocked. Thank you. Tiller54 (talk) 18:14, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
Bellow is the election results from 1992. If I need to get results from the town of Durby hall of records I can do that as well. Please check your resources before you continuously Make false claims. http://www.ct.gov/sots/lib/sots/electionservices/statementofvote_pdfs/1992_sov.pdf
