Radio credits
[edit]How come there's no radio credits section? Doozy88 21:52, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Honorary degree ceremony
[edit]He graduated from the University of Kent in 1988 and was awarded a Honorary Doctorate by the University in 2003 - none of his Kent Drama lecturers attended the ceremony.
How is it known none attended? It was 15 years since he'd been a student and many academics don't attend graduation ceremonies for numerous reasons (and some who do just sit in the audience in plain clothes, rather than appearing in academic dress in procession). Even if true why is this notable? Timrollpickering 23:40, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Possible COI
[edit]Alan Davies is known for using the "notaperm" username on YouTube and uttering "it's not a perm" on TV so I'm assuming these edits (and those in between) were done by him. Either that or someone who knows a lot about his personal life (perhaps his very own stalker). Brad 14:34, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
Ambiguity
[edit]"* He is good friends with Bill Bailey. He chose him to be his best man at his wedding ceremony in January 2007."
Who chose who? I assume Davies chose Bailey, since the article says elsewhere that Davies got married in January 2007. Can assume that Bailey didn't as well. Could do with clarifying, though. - Shrivenzale (talk) 12:52, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

The ear incident - consensus needed
[edit]There has been some recent edits regarding the news story reporting that Davies bit a man in the ear. It was said that the original source from the Daily Mirror was not a reliable source. Taking the matter further, to the admin responsible for removing this source, the admin told me that The Times and The Daily Telegraph do count as reliable sources and therefore can be used as references.
As Wikipedia content is built on consensus, it is necessary that people agree on a consensus about whether the content should still stay or be removed. As for now, it is probably best to keep the content in the article with the new sources, unless the consensus changes. Thank you. ISD (talk) 11:20, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- This comment was blanked without notice of reason. I am restoring it, per Wikipedia:Talk#Editing comments. In case the concern was in reference to lack of sourcing, which was in the article at the time this comment was made, the sources are Foster, Patrick (2007-12-12). "Jonathan Creek actor Alan Davies 'bit tramp's ear' in tussle after friend's funeral". The Times. Retrieved 2008-02-10. & Edwards, Richard (2007-12-12). Pescetarian not vegetarian
[edit]Alan Davies was a guest on the TV show Ready Steady Cook broadcast today and one of the items he brought in and ate was monkfish. I've removed the category 'English Vegetarians'. Muleattack (talk) 22:44, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
English not Welsh
[edit]On the show QI, Davies had claimed to be Welsh however in a later show he revealed that he had made some enquiries into his heritage but was unable to find any Welsh roots. He should therefore be described as English. Graemp (talk) 12:41, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
British
[edit]In the information box 'British' redirects to 'England' this is wrong and non-politically correct in modern Brittan where national differentiation is important. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zippokovich (talk • contribs) 20:43, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Birthplace
[edit]The article gives his birthplace as Loughton, but in the Channel 4 series Alan Davies' Teenage Rebellions he said (during the bit with Norman Tebbit) that he was born in Chingford. 194.75.129.200 (talk) 08:47, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Nationality
[edit]Nationality is erroneously stated as "British". Alan Davies is English and a citizen of the United Kingdom. There is no country called Britain. It is just the name of the island on which the UK is situated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.150.251.248 (talk) 12:07, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
