Deleting my edits
Let's try not to delete this page 10 seconds after creation this time... I had to create it twice and was in the middle of an edit. PatHaugen 01:14, 9 December 2005 (UTC)pathaugen
Then don't hit "save page" before it's done. :) - Lucky 6.9 01:52, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Initial ratings for this article suggested
I have set forth suggested class and importance ratings for this article as follows:
- Class=Start
- Based upon the fact that it is more than stub length; nevertheless, the text is no more than a series of lists and lacks breadth, images, referencing and context.
- Importance=Mid
- Based upon the fact that this is one of California's substantial sized school districts Anlace 15:34, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
[Irrelevant Section]
[Irrelevant comment showing excitement for STAR test scores, and claiming that an elementary school was closed because Arnold Schwarzenegger took money from that school, and used it to fund the war in Iraq. The initial poster even claimed their post was irrelevant, but I am unsure on how to delete it] 71.134.229.247 (talk) 07:51, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
School Section Needs Work
I'm a current high school student at ACLC (Alameda Community Learning Center), and I know for a fact that some of the information on this page is false. Alameda has 2 traditional middle schools, Encinal High School, and Alameda High School. Alameda has 2 middle schools, Will C. Wood Middle School, and Lincoln Middle School. Chipman Middle School was technically closed down in 2010, but it was turned into a charter school known as "The Academy of Alameda Middle School", which is also run by the district, there was no downtime, and all the students remained in the school (With the exception of those who moved away, etc.). In 2009 Washington Elementary school was closed down, and a board independent from AUSD was made, who took over the school, and made it a charter school called the "Nea Community Learning Center" comparable to ACLC, but Nea is a K-12 school, while ACLC only serves grades 6-12. In 2010, ACLC joined the board that made Nea, and is independent from AUSD (but it still has technology agreements, campus agreements etc.). ASTI, is a charter school that is a joint venture between AUSD and the Peralta Colleges, and that should also be noted. I am not 100% sure if "The Academy" is still a part of AUSD, but on their website, their dress code claims that "length of shorts is consistent with AUSD rules", so I think they are still a part of AUSD. For reference purposes, this is the website of the board that runs the Nea and Alameda Community Learning Centers. I will modify the AUSD article to show these changes, but if anyone knows of any mistakes in the aforementioned information, I would be immensely appreciative if you bring that up. aminy23 (talk) 01:04, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
UPDATE: I just read a local newspaper article about these changes. ACLC and Nea are indeed running independently, and Chipman Middle School was restructured into a charter school that is still run by the district. Here is the link to that article. (talk) 01:42, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
