Incorrect history
[edit]The history on this page is not correct. Looking at old imagery on Google Maps which dates back to 2009 shows that in that year, U.S. 78 had already been routed on to Arkadelphia Road. I do not know what year it was routed there. My recollection of the creation of Alabama S.R. 378 was that it was created at the time that I-20/59 was being rebuilt through downtown Birmingham, and it functioned as a detour for drivers who could not access the interstates in order to guide them over to to I-65 and U.S. 78 (Arkadelphia Rd.). I have no citations - just my recollection. If someone who has any definitive authority could re-write this history to provide accurate details that would be much appreciated.
