GA quick fail

[edit]

Unfortunately I'm having to quick fail the articles of all three Wistert brothers nominated for GA status. Per the GA criteria, stub articles cannot be GA listed in their current form. Feel free to renominate once the article has been further expanded. Happy editing! Frickative (talk) 22:00, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review: On Hold

[edit]

I have reviewed this article according to the requirements of the GA criteria and have placed the article on hold until the following issues are addressed. As you address each issue, either strike through the statement/place a check mark next to the issue and state how you addressed it. If you disagree with any of the issues I raised, state your rationale for disagreeing after the issue.

  1. "Interviewed by the Detroit News in 2004, brother Alvin Wistert recalled: "And if I'm not mistaken I think this is unprecedented in the annals of college football: that three brothers all would go to the same school, all played football. All played tackle, all wore the same number 11, all made All-American. Two of us played on four national championship teams. And all were inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame."" If this quote is going to start off the college football section, it should be placed in a cquote to stand out more. Otherwise, include a introductory sentence prior to the quote in the section which will make the placement of this quote fine.Green tickY--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 15:57, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  2. "At the time, Whitey Wistert "was working in a factory building Majestic radios."" This can be reworded to not be in quotation marks.Green tickY--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  3. The college football section includes information about his brothers and high school, and this should be moved into an "early life" section which includes where he was born, his parents (and their occupations if available), and any other relevant information prior to college.Green tickY--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:18, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  4. "Unfortunately, the National Football League had no All-Star games between 1943 and 1950." Reword "unfortunately", can possibly be seen as mild POV.Green tickY--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:04, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  5. The quote in the "Professional football" section needs a period at the end and move the inline citation to after the period.Green tickY--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 18:21, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  6. Again, take information from the "non-football life" and add it to "early life" if applicable.Green tickY--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 18:23, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  7. Add a table showing his college and career stats.
He was an offensive lineman. There are no notable stats.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 15:45, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  8. If possible, see if you can find a free image for use in the article.
    None exist to my knowledge.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 15:45, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will leave the article on hold for seven days for the above issues to be addressed. If they are fixed then I will pass the article; if not, it may be failed. If you have any questions or when you are done, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 07:55, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
