Al-Muqanna' is the title used by Britannica] I suppose the ' reflects an Ayn? Which title is better? gren 05:01, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I remember reading a short story called "The Veiled Prophet of Khorasan" in a small American anthology of short stories. 19th century, someone like Hawthorne, Melville.Marcin862 (talk) 18:21, 17 October 2015 (UTC)

Poisoned himself?
[edit]Actually, Muqanna didn't poisoned himself, but jumped into fire.Bek98 (talk) 20:51, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
Neutrality
[edit]"Zarrinkoob states that al-Muqanna was originally a goldsmith, who later studied material sciences. He also learned magic, spells, and trickery."
An arab author cannot be neutral about Muqanna. Arabs in order to discreditate Muqanna claimed that he was a triccer. Bek98 (talk) 20:59, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
Hakim
[edit]"Hakim is a title for a learned or sage." Actually, Hakim is a name of Muqanna's father. Hashim ibn Hakim. "Ibn" is used before father name. Bek98 (talk) 21:04, 1 January 2017 (UTC)

Contributions by 82.36.156.18 need revision
[edit]These editions by 82.36.156.18 might need some attention. I'll start with the wrong translation of Hāshem (instead of al-Muqanna‘) as The Veiled. --Pablo Tornielli (talk) 21:55, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
