Royal lineage to Wenchi

[edit]

Akosua Busia is referred to as a princess from the Royal Family of Wenchi. This is not accurate. Her link to the Royal family of Wenchi is through her father. The Akans of Ghana are matrilineal and so an Akan male's child does not belong to his family. So children of male royals are not royal or prince/princesses. They are called 'oheneba' which mean's a 'king/chief's child' or 'odehyeba' which means a 'royal's child.' 41.222.232.245 (talk) 13:35, 2 August 2010 (UTC) By: Nana K.W.
