Dude, its not right actually that you describe about its features that are almost gone or totally dysfunctional now. The thing I`d like to point out to readers is that the airport thats mentioned here is non-operational. There are no flights going in and out of the city. But its only used for special events related to aeromodelling ofcourse. And on other times, speed enthusiasts come to speed their vehicles here(since you cant really do that in the crowded and potholed roads) or learn to drive.
Yash... Let me tell u something u really dont know or should I say u have less knowledge about it, that I said Akola Airport is undertaken by AAI and its Reconstruction and operations work is going on. I agree that its non-operational and was just used for special events. But, from now onwards it will be under AAI safeguards and they will run it. And which other features r u saying that r almost gone. Please list them ??

Famous Personalities & schools
I think all names (except those with articles on wp ) should be removed as those without an article are certainly non-notable--NotedGrant Talk 12:01, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'll remove all those names if no references are provided --NotedGrant Talk 13:39, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
I would better suggest to keep following school names since they are notable:
* Jubilee Convent High School * Mount Carmel High School * New English High School
CBSE affiliated schools in Akola are:
* Emerald International School, Akola * School of Scholars, Hingna Rd. * Jubilee English C. B. S. E. School, Greenvalley, Kumbhari, Dist. Akola

Since the above institutions have been visited by number of celebrities like the scientists, politicians, actors, etc. of India and abroad, so in my view these institutions are notable...--Akshaya_P 09:06, 14 October 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Akshay Paraskar (talk • contribs)

Under Prominent Citizens we can include " Vitthal Wagh" and "Ram Jadhav". Vitthal Wagh is the prominent writer and poet, and he was Head of Marathi Sahitya Sammellan also. Ram Jadhav has setup 'Rasikashray' to teach play-acting. He was head of 'Marathi Natya Parishad' in 2011 which was held in Ratnagiri district.
Thanks!
I added Dr. Wagh to notable personalities, however I did not add Mr. Ram Jadhav. Can you provide more info about him? Regards! SlimShadyLFC (talk) 05:14, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Adding Dr. Vitthal Wagh's name to notable personalities, as someone removed it. Also creating a wikipedia article of him. Please do not revert it again. Thanks! canaar 04:20, 17 November 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abhilash Mhaisne (talk • contribs)

It is nice to know about Akola on net. The information is useful. The photograph of station chowk should be replaced by the garden or market photo. Avinash B Tohare - Mumbai India |
