Charity: water

[edit]

Anybody to ask charity: water about permission to some of photos? Or ask Jim Hocking directly. --mj41 (talk) 21:57, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Clean-up

[edit]

Although this was initially intended to be a correction of some dodgy info regarding mtDNA haplotypes, my edit ended up turning into a massive revamp of the entire page. I knew absolutely nothing about the Aka before this. Somebody with more knowledge than me should clear up some major ambiguities (what does "affiliated with" actually mean?) and add some much-needed information about their habits + behaviour. This page seems to explain the whole affiliation business, but I'm currently too lazy to read it. Massivefranklin (talk) 22:04, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Parenting

[edit]

The Parenting section needs serious reconsideration. It is off to a great start by showing a unique cultural difference, however the entire section is based upon that single fact. It either needs to greatly expanded upon through review of the current literature (if any) or the section should be reduced to a single sentence description of the fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.142.253.134 (talk) 23:25, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Outrageous!

[edit]

"...The men also help the women, by breastfeeding their children. It is believed that this is related to the strong bond between Aka husband and wife...." . No citation of this truly incredible claim. This needs to be fixed, either with a citation showing the fathers care so deeply for the mother and children that they begin lactating....or the whole silly sentence should be removed. Absurd. 2600:8807:8787:7700:A0D8:4351:3112:5F (talk) 23:15, 29 December 2016 (UTC) BGriffin[reply]

I'm going to change the part about men breastfeeding to simply feeding. I don't think there is any reference supporting men lactating and feeding children, yet if it were true, changing the statement to the broader 'feeding' still encompasses that.
