"ATP may be used as a name suffix"

[edit]

Just looking for a reference for this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by FlyingKiwi (talkcontribs) 11:23, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what could count as a reference for this other than the fact that I've seen countless pilot business cards and resumes etc. which all say ATP after the name. If someone said you could PhD. after your name what would count as a citation to back that up? It's simply a longstanding de facto thing to do. 98.175.106.200 (talk) 07:17, 29 July 2014 (UTC) Bob Dobbs[reply]

In fact, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-nominal_letters makes it pretty clear that professional certifications and accreditations etc. can all be fair game for post nominal letters. What's the policy on wikipedia citing wikipedia? I'm new to this. Anyhow, I'm going to remove the citation needed and cite the article given. Someone please let me know if this is somehow improper. 98.175.106.200 (talk) Bob Dobbs — Preceding undated comment added 07:22, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite

[edit]

This article needs to be rewritten pretty much from scratch. It's mixing US and international standards and terminology and is simply incorrect in many areas as well. BabyNuke (talk) 12:13, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
