This article is in good shape. I have a few comments:

  • link Air supremacy for air superiority as it covers the lower levels
    • Done.
  • in the lead, perhaps "In general, the conflict was focused on air-to-ground attacks and ground-based anti-aircraft fire; only one dogfight is known to have occurred." as the AA action with the Grails was considerable, also move the anti-aircraft warfare link up to here
    • Done.
  • link both UAAF and TAFC in the lead
    • Done.
  • I feel like there should a brief background section explaining the geopolitical situation that led to the war
  • suggest just using Ugandan Army Air Force rather than a combination of Ugandan Air Force and Ugandan Army Air Force, if that is what it was called at the time
    • Done (it was Uganda Army Air Force).
  • "in training its air force" as you've already established it is the UAAF we are talking about
    • Done.
  • "Ugandan Air ForceUAAF" there are a couple of instances of this, also of "Air Force" introduce it in full, then just use the acronym
    • Done.
  • Amin should be in full and linked when introduced, but this should happen in the Background section
    • Done.
  • "several dozens of"
    • Done.
  • "Some of the available planesaircraft were not combat-ready"
    • Done.
  • "and were abandoned"
    • Done.
  • use MANPADS in full then introduce the acronym
    • Done.
  • the Tanzanian Air Force is variously described as the Air Wing of Air Defence Command and as Tanzania Air Force Command. Suggest deciding on one name and sticking with it
    • Done.
  • what does Kikosi cha Jeshi mean? Could you add a translation per (<translation>, KJ) after it?
    • The book offers no translation, and google translate (notoriously bad at understanding Kiswahili) says "Army Regiment", which doesn't sound right.
  • did the reputation of the TPDF for its high degree of professionalism and adaptability extend to the TAFC?
    • I've removed that portion of text, as it's a heavy interpretation of the source text (even if its not one I would disagree with).
  • is there a link for Kagera salient?
    • Linked to Kagera Region, same as West Lake Region (the division's old name).
  • "were again harassed by ineffectual anti-aircraft fire" was this AAA or missiles?
    • Word added. Probably AA guns, since Avirgan & Honey imply that Tanzanian missiles were not deployed until 28 October when the SA-7 MANPADS team arrived in Kyaka.
  • is there a link for Kapwepwe, nearest town or something?
    • Unable to locate.
  • "EquippedFlying with MiG-21s"
    • Done.
  • Captain→captain
    • Done.
  • mining specialists→demolition specialists
  • diverted from its course
    • Done.
  • "to disturb the"→"to disrupt the assembly of"
    • Done.
  • "began to fly its first attacks in Ugandan air space"→"began to make its first incursions into Ugandan air space"
    • Done.
  • "heavy resistance byfrom SA-7 teams"
    • Done.
  • is there a link for Lukuma? nearest town?
    • Lukoma(*) actually. None that I've found.
  • "near Byesika atover the Masaka–Mubende road"
    • Changed to "along".
  • "Idi Amin's regime" once you've introduced him in a Background section
    • Done.
  • "Ugandan-Tanzanian border, and"
    • Removed.
  • "President Amin"
    • Removed.
  • "a Belgian Sabena cargo plane"
    • Done.
  • LARAF?
  • suggest "RPG-7 anti-tank grenade launcher" impressive shot!
    • People don't give modern African milhist enough credit for badassery! Done.
  • I don't love the composite photo of the Bangla MIG-21, you should at least mention this one is a Bangla one
    • Done.
  • File:Soldier with a SA-7b MANPADS.jpg clearly wasn't taken by a USAF employee, so the US license doesn't work
    • Photo swapped.
  • that doesn't look like a Libyan roundel on the Tu-22
    • This is the original upload. Couldn't find the original image page on the navy museum website (load timed out). Since the photo is dated 1977, the roundel and especially the tail-fin flag seem to match the Libyan insignia for the time (see Flag of Libya, particularly Federation of Arab Republics).
  • add author-link to the Pollack book full citation
    • Done.
  • SA-3 is duplinked
    • Fixed.

That's all I have. Placing on hold for the above to be addressed. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 10:25, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
