Zurich?

Greenland is not a nation; therefore it can’t possess a national airline. Wikipedia is strewn with erroneous information about territories, provinces, and even cities that supposedly have “national’ airlines. The original author obviously did not pay attention in Geography class.

Assessment comments

This article is coming around good. The most "difficult" bit—a comprehensive, referenced history section—is mostly done. What is left is a description of the fleet, service and destinations, and a long lead. Note that all the references need proper formatting, add a copyedit and the article will could be a GA candidate. If you're interested, we could collaborate to get it up to GA standards. Absolutely! The lead I think would be most problematic for me to expand − right now I don't quite know of where to start improving it... I will see what I can do about the fleet description. I have created a translation redirect to Kalaallit Nunaata Radioa, which already exists. There is a destinations sub-article, which needs a lot more work beyond the bare table that is there today. I will try to update that article. One thing to note about the references is that the 'news archive' from airgreenland.dk, albeit primary, is not a reliable source − in the sense of a high linkrot risk. They tend to delete old and/or inconvenient press releases without notice, which has already bitten me in this article and elsewhere. Fortunately, replacements can mostly be found in local press (KNR & Sermitsiaq). I think the Greenland-specific information about booking and flight scheduling is missing as of now, and would be good to add. Also, would it make sense to write about catering? To see what I've gotten through GA before, take a look at Color Air, Braathens Helikopter, History of Braathens SAFE (1946–93) and Bergen Air Transport. To get the article up to GA standards, everything needs to referenced from a reliable source. Right now, there are several things that are not referenced, such as "The Dash-7 machines remain in active service in Greenland, serving all airports with the exception of Nerlerit Inaat Airport near Ittoqqortoormiit, the operation of which is handed to Air Iceland on a government contract." Another thing is that some of the references are in the "wrong place", i.e. they should be at the end of the claim. For instance ref 10 at "which in 1972[10] allowed the airline..." how can the reference state a year but not what happened in the year? I'm in the process. Do you understand Greenlandic? I can't find a translate tool from Greenlandic, and I'm having difficulty finding a source that states that Air Iceland serves Ittoqqortoormiit. Arsenikk ^(talk) 22:12, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

It doesn't serve Ittoqqortoormiit (or Illoqqortoormiut as rendered in west Greenlandic). It operates flights to Nerlerit Inaat Airport (KUS-CNP, RKV-CNP), which serves Ittoqqortoormiit, with Air Greenland providing helicopter flights between the airport and the heliport in town (OBY). Article to do list

• The stats on # of annual passengers could probably better be turned into a graph somewhere in the article, rather than left as appendices to each section.
• More details in the "incidents" section about the cause and resolution (for the stranded Americans and the strikers) would be nice.
• More details on when ownership shifted: did Denmark buy its share from the mining company? did Home Rule? What happened to KGH's share? &c.
• 2011 stats & more details on subsidiaries from the newest annual report.
• More details on history from 50th anniversary pages.
• Double check and source: was the anglicized name "Greenlandair" ever official for anything other than the charter service? When?
• Include more images of the airline's "Fartplans", pending copyright
• Check the archives of the Scandinavian magazine Travel People for more background and details.
