English meaning of the place name
[edit]The translation "black head" is not appropriate. Although Dutch/Afrikaans "kop" does also mean "head" in English, in a topographical context it rather refers to a hill. Hence, "Swartkop" means "black hill". 92.105.32.44 (talk) 20:22, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- You are quite correct, I have fixed it --NJR_ZA (talk) 06:50, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Name is incorrect
[edit]The correct name is Swartkops - ending with an "s". Roger (talk) 11:59, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- No, the AFB is Swartkop, without the s [1] --NJR_ZA (talk) 17:45, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
