There was no consensus around that point of view at the deletion debateBri (talk) 02:12, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The product is currently shipping and users will begin reporting behaviour this coming week. Should no longer be considered for deletion.Alanbrowne (talk) 17:54, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox type/content

[edit]

Should the infobox for this one contain info like announcement and release dates, compatibility, etc? If we go by other Apple devices - iPods have a ton more hardware and compatibility info but don't have any dates in the infobox, while iPhones do have dates and a ton of hardware specs in the infobox. cc: Sirius_1098, Biblib, Alanbrowne as the three biggest contributors to the page, any ideas? ASpacemanFalls (talk) 15:09, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is a major product from Apple and as it rolls into user hands this week, a lot more will be understood about it and documented in the Wiki ("original") - I know I will be doing a lot of experimenting with its capabilities and limitiations.Alanbrowne (talk) 17:52, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I favor including as much technical information as possible in the infobox -- so similar to the iPhone model. Important dates should also be included, like dates of first sale (and presumed eventual discontinuation). Biblib (talk) 19:44, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The infobox contains the release dates. Sorry for replying late. Sirius 1098 (talk) 12:59, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

AirTag (tracker)AirTag – Clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Apple AirTag comes up with 30,000,000 ghits, while "AirTag payments provider" comes up with comes up with 20,000,000, most referencing to the Apple AirTag. See also Google Trends for AirTag before and after release (20 April) [1]. — Berrely • TalkContribs 17:34, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Since consensus has been reached, I went ahead and began the move process. AirTag has been moved to AirTag (company), but I am unsure of how to delete the redirect so this page can be named simply "AirTag". Abobeck11 (talk) 16:53, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Be interesting to document the lack of family sharing and why Apple has done so.

"Just the facts, ma'am,"

Avoid mos:puffery that you might find in a product's advertising.

Example found in the Theft prevention and recovery section : "Police were reportedly elated at the ease at which they were able to arrest the criminals and recover the property thanks to the AirTags."

If this is a direct quote, then format it that way. Otherwise, you can see the puffery here and how you might find it printed on AirTag packaging. Does Apple really need an extra advertising boost from Wikipedia?
