Fair use rationale for Image:Ainjel Emme-Heartache Is Boring.jpg
[edit]Image:Ainjel Emme-Heartache Is Boring.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 01:54, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
I have permission from the artist and copyright holder to add an image to this page, but cannot figure out how to get it uploaded and properly licensed through Wiki. Please advise.. Thanks. Audiobelle (talk) 08:09, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Far too much material written by single-purpose IPs
[edit]Connected contributor Audiobelle said that they were associated with Ainjel Emme: "I have permission from the artist and copyright holder to add an image to this page..."
Many single-purpose IPs have added text to this biography as well as links to it in other articles, with a pattern that suggests the subject editing her own page. The IPs started with Special:Contributions/24.130.26.170 and Special:Contributions/24.126.240.185 in 2005, and have continued through Special:Contributions/108.184.143.68 in 2020 and Special:Contributions/67.49.60.75 in 2021. This constitutes a WP:Conflict of interest as the aim is self-promotion rather than building up Wikipedia in a neutral manner. Binksternet (talk) 18:12, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
Changes being made not following Wikipedia guidelines
[edit]I can see in the revisions that a recent change was made using the grounds that this person was "not famous," and additions/citations I added earlier today were reverted despite following Wikipedia guidelines. If there are issues with the page as a whole, these should be addressed through a discussion about notability or a note to improve sources or content, not by removing cited content. - Actaudio, I'm a big fan of women having proper representation on Wikipedia. I've started a couple dozen articles about women and I am always looking to do more.
- The problem with Ainjel Emme is that very little has been written about her in WP:SECONDARY sources. Bust magazine reviewed Heartache is Boring in 2004, but they did not talk about her life, or describe her career arc. Spin magazine said a few things about her artistry but, again, they did not talk about her life or career.
- I don't want to see this biography deleted, but it would be a close call at WP:Articles for deletion because it doesn't satisfy the usual WP:GNG or WP:MUSICBIO requirements. Rather, the biography has bits and pieces of moderate success.
- Many of the past edits on this biography suffered from TMI and oversharing, bringing up unreferenced past tragedies such as runaway street life and heroin. Many of the edits talked about routine things such as filling a support position on various musical projects. What I'm trying to do is focus the article on the biggest accomplishments and most prominent industry credits. WP:INDISCRIMINATE is the policy that backs my actions of taking down the big table of routine accomplishments. It says "To provide encyclopedic value, data should be put in context with explanations referenced to independent sources." It's more informative to have a prose description of several important accomplishments. Binksternet (talk) 01:25, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- Emme produced the Neska Rose album released last week.[1] If the album goes places then the rising tide will raise Emme, too. Binksternet (talk) 01:51, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- Binksternet, thank you for laying it out more clearly. Given how quickly the page was reverted, I was unsure what the reasoning was behind it.Actaudio (talk) 19:42, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
New additions to the article
[edit]I updated this article using some sources from the discussion about deletion. I was also able to verify she worked with David Bowie on a track by finding the album cover online, which do include her by name and title - https://www.amazon.com/Turning-Kates-Diary-Original-Soundtrack/dp/B08L2P88KJ
I did not cite the photo (since it was from Amazon) but I did include a source to Discogs which includes the same title/credit. Actaudio (talk)
