Note about alternate name

[edit]

Several sources here refer to this mosque as the "Al-Azhar" for the mosque, while the WMF source clearly illustrates this particular mosque with an octagonal minaret. However, I personally suspect there may be some confusion here with another mosque, the Lalla ez-Zhar Mosque, which sometimes goes by that name too (e.g. in a document for UNESCO here, in the list of mosques) or close variants of the name such as "ez-Zhar Mosque". It may be coincidence due to this name simply being popular enough to be used for more than one mosque, so without other evidence there's no reason to make any corrections here, and there are not enough detailed sources on this mosque here to clarify the issue for now. I'm just making note of it here for the future (including for myself as the page creator) in case it comes up. R Prazeres (talk) 05:37, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
