Birth date

[edit]

I would dispute the birth date of Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum. His father, Saeed bin Maktoum al Maktoum, died in 1958. See here: http://www.sheikhhamdan.ae/english/al_maktoum_family/Sheikh_saeed.htm Ahmed was, to my knowledge, born posthumously, but within months of his father's death not years (obviously). Ahmed or Ahmad? If Ahmed correct the heading up his portrait photo. Maybe a stupid question but is it the same man on both photos?193.87.30.205 (talk) 22:40, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"أحمد" is the most "correct" spelling. This is commonly transliterated as either "Ahmed" or "Ahmad", so, in principle, either is "correct" in the Roman alphabet. Phil Bridger (talk) 00:04, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chairman of Emirates and FlyDubai

[edit]

He is also chairman of the Emirates group and FlyDubai (low cost carrier based in Dubai). To my surprise this is mentioned in the respective wikipedia articles but not referenced here. Zugerbueb (talk) 05:13, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did he conceive the strategy of turning Dubai into a lower cost hub for the European continent, or did someone else? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.74.8.79 (talk) 14:55, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
