Mr Ahmed Aboul Gheit He was born 12 june 1942 in Heliopolis,Cairo,Egypt.He married (Leila Kamal Salah) and he had two sons.He graduated from Ainshams University in 1964 with B.Sc in Commerece.

Professional history:

He joined the ministry of foreign affairs in 1965 and in 1968 he became the third secretary of Egypt Embassy in Cyprus.In 1972 he became a member of staff of the advisor to the president national secuirty affairs.In 1974 and until 1977 he became first secretary, permanent mission of Egypt to the UN.In 1977 he was the first secretary for the minister's cabinet.In the period from 1979 until 1982 he was the political counselor, Embassy of Egypt in Moscow.He held the position of political advisor ( private secretary ) to the minister for foreign affairs of Egypt in 1982 to 1984.In 1984 until 1985 he was political advisor (private secretary) to the prime minister of Egypt.In 1985 until 1987 he was counselor, permanent mission of Egypt to the UN for the second time.In 1987 he was promoted to be the dedputy permanent representative of Egypt to the UN until 1989.Then he held a position as the political advisor (private secretary) to the minister for foreign affairs of Egypt from 1989 until 1991.in 1991 he was the chief of cabinet of the minister for foreign affairs of Egypt until 1992.Then he became the Egypt’s ambassador to Italy / Macedonia / San Marino and representative to FAO in Rome until 1996.Then he held the position of assistant foreign minister of Egypt for cabinet affairs until 1999.from 1999 until 2004 he became the permanent representative of Egypt to the United Nations.In 2004 he was the minister if foreign affairs.
