Ahmed Abdel Rahman Nasser → Ahmed Abdel Rahman Nasr — This page refers to my grandfather and his name is misspelled therefore no internet search can give a correct output through this website, hence the name must be changed to the correct one. Ismailhashad (talk) 17:12, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The idea that there is a "correct" spelling of Arabic in Western alphabets should have gone away years ago; T. E. Lawrence made notable fun of it. This spelling of Nasser is notoriously the one used for the President, for example.

Therefore, please supply sources, in English, which speak of the subject; they will settle the question at hand, and help the article. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 02:50, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is only one reference on the page at the moment, to an English language webpage of the Egyptian military - with the spelling Nasr. I'll repeat the link here. [1] Noel S McFerran (talk) 12:17, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This link (http://www.mmc.gov.eg/branches/AIRFORCE/Nor.htm) has the spelling "Nasser". Greenshed (talk) 22:09, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The English spelling is totally dependent on the original Arabic name: 'Nasser" for "ناصر" and "Nasr" for "نصر". I checked the Egeptian Air Force article on Arbic Wikipedia ar:القوات_الجوية_المصرية and it mentions his name as "أحمد عبد الرحمن ناصر", hence "Nasser" in English (I've added it to the article by the way) and the move is unnecessary.
