Who has a source for this claim? "More mountainous than Switzerland" --Timoluege (talk) 13:02, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Much and maybe all of this article is copied and pasted directly from the cited source. It needs to summarize the source instead and should be expanded with more sources. Sugar, coffe and textiles were main sources of revenue for Haiti until the Cuban revolution. After this, the US changed its trade laws in an effort to harm Cuba's communist regime and succeeded in harming Haiti's main exports in the process. A comprehensive article should include this information as well. NancyHeise talk 03:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree with the above. One single reference never makes an independant view. Local rice production has been reduced to almost nil after US massive exports (imports in Haïti) at low price. Improvement

[edit]

Hi, I think this article would be improved if it addressed the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake, and how the destruction limited the local people's ability to transport their crops. Athomas1995 (talk) 01:45, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
