Planned Changes and Revisions
[edit]I am planning to revise article's structure and add information in the coming weeks. I plan on restructuring the article to fall more in line with Wikipedia's guidance on structuring political science articles. I also plan on adding sections to document different historical instances of agrarian socialism, and organize all of them by region (North America, Europe, South America, Asia, Africa). Specifically, I intend to add sections on the operation of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation in Saskachewan, Canada, The Okhlahoma Socialist Party in the United States, Mao Zedong's Great Leap Forward, the Khmer Rouge's Four Year Plan, and more. Please see my annotated bibliography in my bibliography sandbox on the Wikipedia dashboard. EditMaxim (talk) 14:29, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Query of Australian National party being listed as agrarian socialist
As an Australian familiar with domestic politics it seems quite misleading for the Australian National Party to be listed as a potential agrarian socialist party (without any references and supporting argument). The Nationals do represent country interests, but do not seem to be 'socialist' in any way - tending more to be liberal capitalist. 124.149.199.27 (talk) 07:18, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
Fleshing the description out further
This article would do well to have more in-line citations and references, the 'Description' section in particular. Khanzar (talk) 00:01, 4 September 2015 (UTC)Khanzar
American Tradition
[edit]Doesn't the US have a midwest populist tradition that would fall in line with socialism? I am thinking about the Populist movement, and how it joined various socialist groups in the upper midwest to like establish a state bank and they wanted the government to take over currency, guarantee employment, etc.? I know some of the leaders were socialists, but I am not sure if they would be worth mentioning — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.160.182.113 (talk) 19:57, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

Wiki Ed assignment: Agrarian Socialism Upcoming edits
[edit]Going to make some updates to this page soon for a class assignment. The first update will be adding to the description section and the second update will be a new section about Latin agrarian socialism (mainly Cuban-focused for now). If anyone has any recommendation for works on the Landless Workers' Movement, that would be greatly appreciated! ChanningHIST (talk) 21:08, 9 December 2022 (UTC)

Agrarian socialism in Cambodia / Pol Pot and Khmer Rouge
[edit]Shouldn’t this be at least mentioned in the article? I’ll start to write a basic version of the section myself if so, but I’m wondering if there’s a reason it hasn’t been added yet since it’s probably the first example most think of about this form of socialism. 2A02:C7F:2C25:8C00:FD60:6105:FD48:C4E8 (talk) 17:54, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
- If it is the first example people think of that's quite sad because it's a really bad example. It's still worthy of a section though and for that matter so is its inspiration, Maoist China. Charles Essie (talk) 05:17, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, I have drafted additions to this article detailing agrarian socialism in Cambodia/CPK and Maoist China. I'll be posting my draft on my sandbox early next week if you'd like to take a look and let me know your thoughts. I hope we can work on this together! EditMaxim (talk) 21:20, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
