Medical emergency
[edit]This article sounds as if AR isn't really that serious, but it is my understanding that this is a medical emergency and the situation is pretty grave? leopheard (talk) 09:08, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

Peer Review
[edit]Lead: Current lead could really be a section of its own, as it mostly contains information not otherwise stated in the article. The article could benefit from constructing a new lead that served as an overview of the article and putting some of the information found in the existing lead into the existing sections, perhaps adding a section on causes.
Content: Content appears up to date and complete. The section "Distinctions" may not belong in this article- at least it seems like there is too much information that is not directly relevant to the topic at hand (i.e. difference between Cheyenne-Stokes respiration and Ataxic respirations).
Tone and Balance: There do not appear to be any controversial viewpoints in this article.
Sources and References: There are a few pieces of information that are not accompanied by a citation- at least a couple paragraphs do not end with a citation. Only 1/3 of the citations are from the past ten years- not sure if there are more contemporary sources for some of the information in the article. Otherwise the links appear to be in working order and from reliable sources.
Organization: The article could be made more accessible with edits to language (words like denotes and heralds all raise the reading level of this article) to make the article easier to read.
Images and Media: The new info box image is a simulation of chest compressions, which is tangentially related but there's probably not a good visual representation for this topic. Other images added are relevant to the section. The caption for the infobox image and the CPR image could be better- the former is a simulation, and the latter is probably more accurately titled something like "Medical personnel performing chest compressions as part of ACLS".
Overall Impressions: The additions appear to be the content following what is now the lead. This topic may not have a lot of available information, but a relevant area to expand on would be causes and the added Clinical Features section. A lot of work has been done in the Distinctions section but some of the information added is not strictly relevant to agonal respiration. In general, the article has been made more complete.
