Merge standardised mortality rates

[edit]

Age-standardized mortality rate is basically a specific application of age adjustment - and the 'when standardisation is inappropriate' part in particular would be better placed here.

Also, could some kind soul with an account create redirects from age standardisation and age standardization to this article? --144.53.226.17 (talk) 01:04, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Additional consideration should also be given to the articles at Standardised mortality rate and Standardized mortality ratio which are again about essentailly the same thing. I think it is necessary to have an article under one of these terms (not age adjustment) since this is a standard terminology, possibly with another with the title age adjustment giving more of the whys and who's done its. I'm more used to the term "age-adjusted mortality rate" than "age-standardized mortality rate". I don't know whether to merge or not. 174.31.131.109 (talk) 03:18, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
