Djent

[edit]

So yeah, I put 'Djent' in After the Burial's genre and was told off by an administrator. But they kind of are, check their guitar tone and their left hand muting style. Discuss? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.148.197.172 (talk) 13:23, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well I'm not an administrator, but djent isn't even exactly a genre nor was it sourced. If anything the article for it solely credits it as a movement. • GunMetal Angel 03:15, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
...But after reading the article again, I can admit, it has been much to debate on if it is a new subgenre or not, mentioning it on the article as After the Burial being part of the djent movement could be necessary if there is a source available, but having it set as a genre for them would be kind of awkward considering no other band articles state "---- is a djent band" or what not. But if you have a source, I'll look into it. I even own a copy of the newest issue of Revolver that mentions djent in one particular article that I'll be sure to look at as well. • GunMetal Angel 03:20, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deathcore

[edit]

Sorry I sent another message, this site confuses me. Here is a source that says they are deathcore, and I don't see one for metalcore but here. I hope all past stuff can be put behind us because I'm just trying to help. http://www.metalsucks.net/2010/12/14/a-somewhat-overdue-review-of-after-the-burial%E2%80%99s-in-dreams/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skramblez (talkcontribs) 03:23, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've understood in the past, MetalSucks was reliable for interviews such as for the case of bands like Job for a Cowboy and Suicide Silence, but in this case, I just asked of a third-party to come in as well. • GunMetal Angel 03:33, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
MetalSucks and MetalInjection fail WP:RS for the purposes of sourcing genre (but as you say, may be fine for interviews), but the Allmusic links are fine. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 10:00, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good to me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skramblez (talkcontribs) 04:12, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I guess deathcore can be added. Originally I saw these guys pretty similar to Between the Buried and Me but that new album really has someone big differences to BTBAM's newest EP and after all, the review for that album IS the review for their latest record, In Dreams so there's nothing going wrong here and if someone else disagrees, that source will still apply to backing up the article for just the album if the ATB page needs to have it removed for whatever trivial reason. As long as stuff like djent stays off we're good. Djent can however be mentioned in the article seeing how there are sources that credit the band following the movement, but even the article itself says there's much debate over it being an actual genre or not. But anyway; I'll add deathcore in. • GunMetal Angel 10:19, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

deathcore

[edit]

A user named 69.225.133.139 has been changing the genre when it is reliably sourced. I invited him here so he can talk why he denies their status as a deathcore band or reliable sources. He cannot edit the genre field unless he proves me they aren't deathcore and we compromise. But he can ask here.
