Blogs used as secondary sources

re: Claire Heuchan & Sister Outrider
Heuchan is an award-winning blogger. Her blog Sister Outrider received the 2016 Best Blog award from Write to End Violence Against Women sponsored by UK organization Zero Tolerance. She has also written for The Guardian newspaper. In 2017, she was a panelist at Women Against Racism, sponsored by Nottingham Contemporary. Feedspot named Sister Outrider one the top 30 radical feminists blogs and websites of 2019. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling defended Heuchan after trolls attacked her over an op-ed in The Guardian in 2017. Heuchan was included in the 2018 Glasgow International festival. In March 2019, she was a speaker at the Violence Unseen exhibition. She also writes for AfterEllen.
Sister Outrider is not only an award-winning blog, but its author has received recognition (examples: 1, 2) -- even if not within the confines of the United States. Wikipedia:Notability (web) includes blogs as web content. Among the criteria required for notability is: "The website or content has won a well-known and independent award from either a publication or organization." The guidelines in WP:RS > Self-published sources and User-generated content are not 100% black and white. For SPS it says: "self-published media are largely not acceptable." For UGC it says: "user-generated is also generally unacceptable." The inclusion of "largely" and "generally" bend the rules by leaving the door open for SPS and UGC that can be considered acceptable.
Before an editor who is uninformed about a particular blog site and its author deletes such a blog/author as a source, the least he can do is make an effort to find out something about the source and whether it is notable before deleting it, which in the case of Claire Heuchan and Sister Outrider it's easy to do. Make AfterEllen a separate article again

AfterEllen has been a non-affiliated website since 2014, when it was acquired by Evolve Media. The Backlot was then retained by Logo and one year later absorbed under its NewNowNext subsidiary. I propose that all content about The Backlot be removed and used to create a separate article about it, and AfterEllen be restored to its original status as a singular, distinct article. Yes, I read your suggestion and agreed that the two should be split. No problem. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 14:10, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

I don't mind the article being re-split. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 01:06, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
"AfterEllen.com and TheBacklot.com" currently redirects here. That redirect should probably be deleted. At WP:Requested move, I'll have an administrator move "Talk:AfterEllen.com and TheBacklot.com" to "Talk:AfterEllen.com." Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 01:20, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
The article history was lost because of the way that Bohemian Baltimore split the content. I'll have to request a WP:Histmerge. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 01:23, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
My apologies! Thank you for calling this to my attention. I had tried to merge using the move option, but it wouldn't let me. That's why I had done a copy and paste. I won't do that again! Sorry again for the inconvenience, I'll be more careful in the future. Best. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 01:54, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
