name format

I propose to move this page to Cuisine of Africa (currently redirect), and make it a redirect there. This follows the common format and the preferred naming convention for nationality named articles (although I suppose "African" is more of a continentity :) ). Objections? --Dmcdevit 05:51, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

    • hi seeing u after a long time - I am with you, please do initiate the move , I was thinking to do that, but am not aware of all the nitty-gritty. Please do this fast, thanks.--Bhadani 05:56, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I moved all regional cuisine pages to $1 cuisine, the majority of links use that. This page was an exception, but I didn't give it precedence. --Joy [shallot] 20:40, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

86.165.215.166 (talk) 16:28, 27 November 2008 (UTC)The Asian, Arab, and European influence on African cuisine(south of the Sahara) should be deleted, or explained as being very minimal and regional, especially since there's no such thing as an "one way" influence. If these cultures have influenced African Cuisine, then African Cuisine has influenced their cuisines. I've searched the Wiki articles under Euro, Arab, and Asian Cuisines, and found no mention of African(south of the Sahara) influence on their cuisines...funny that. This quandary smacks of low level racism, and discrediting. Edit it, or I WILL.86.165.215.166 (talk) 16:28, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Recent edit

An anon recently deleted a large portion of the article, then reverted my revert claiming it was legitimate. I'm not really well versed in the topic, but it looked fishy. So here's what was deleted:

"African Cuisines are generally colorful and bold, with very rich textures and strong spicy undertones. The continent of Africa is the second largest landmass on the earth and is home to hundreds of tribes, ethnic and social groups. This diversity is also reflected in African cuisine, in the use of basic ingredients as well as in the style of preparation and cooking techniques."

and

"Basically, African cuisine is a combination of locally available fruits and vegetables, milk and meat products, and a traditional African diet has a predominance of milk, curd and whey – naturally, the Bible has described Ethiopia as the land of milk and honey. Yet, differences, sometimes significant, are noticeable in the eating and drinking habits across the continent of Africa. Naturally, African cuisine widely differs in different parts of Africa, and East Africa, North Africa, West Africa, South Africa and Central Africa have distinctive cuisine."

Do you all think this was right? I don't see what was so wrong with all of this that it all had to go. --Dmcdevit 06:02, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)

let us build a great article on this topic

Anonymous editor 4.250.177.5 claims that nothing true was deleted. I donot contradict his/her claims. As regards the truth, I am just giving one URL, kindly read para 11 for reference to Ethiopia in the Bible. All editors, including me, is required to understand at least few very basic wiki principles like “wikipedia is not an experiment in anarchy” and “wikipedia is not an experiment is democracy”. Let us come closer to build a great article on this topic. Happy editing to all!!!--Bhadani 08:41, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC) I added my post to this page because i thought that it needed more attension and that theirs more that needed to be added to the page. Ethiopia is not all of Africa

I edited to show that there are large parts of tropical Africa where cattle and cow's milk are rare. The tsetse fly is largely to blame.

A rollback
