Pronunciation

[edit]

I see conflicting info on the internet about how this brand name is pronounced. There should be a pronunciation guide in the first sentence of the article. --76.22.110.17 (talk) 20:21, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

[edit]

The article is of doubtful notability and looks more like advertizing. I recommend it for speedy deletion. Mzilikazi1939 (talk) 09:48, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mzilikazi1939. I Googled 'Aesop skincare' and found all these articles about the company on the first two pages of results (in addition to the one already used in the article):
http://www.billionaire.com/body/skincare/422/aesop-brown-and-botanical
http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304402104579149191449280248
http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/fashion/features/aesop-fabled-beauty-808579.html
http://brighamyen.com/2014/04/28/aesop-apothecary-beauty-skincare-line-now-open-9thbroadway-downtown-la/
http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/07/01/vain-glorious-a-chat-with-aesop/
http://nymag.com/thecut/2013/03/cult-beauty-brand-that-tries-not-to-be.html

I hope these show notability of the brand. I don't think the article should be deleted. Pear285 (talk) pear 23:19, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

One judges the article on what is properly referenced there, not what can be found outside it. I take it you are the author, Pear285, so it is up to you to prove your point. Quoting the firm's own website (references 2,3) is not acceptable proof. The final reference is a dead link and seems not to have been provided by you. I have therefore put the proposed deletion template at the head of the article. If you wish to save it, then please do a proper job of research this time. Award not for the company but just some random product

[edit]

"For the company's national and international experience in sustainable development, and eco-friendly products, the Environment Possibility Award conferred the "Award of Green-Trend Leader" to Aesop in 2020."

No, just Olous Aromatique Room Spray got that useless award that is given to masses of products. Most likely the award can be bought.
