[edit]This article is greatly lacking, I plan on much needed improvements. I plan on redoing this Article. I want to add multiple sections, pictures, graphs and possibly tables. SsjGGV (talk) 14:21, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Rick pretty much did everything in the topic of Aerial seeding. He added pictures and a table to the page, which made it looks really good. His topic on aerial seeding is very informative in defining what aerial seeding is and how it is very useful in covering large areas in need of vegetation cover or inaccessible land. His table listed the different seeds that used aerial seeding was helpful in knowing what seeds are in used today. The brief history was nice is knowing how aerial seeding started for the purposed of killing off sphinx moth larvae using a modified Curtis JN-6 plan and that most plan used were from WWII lead to a business revolved around aerial seeding. It would be nice if more information on the different planes that was used or changed over the years as aerial seeding become more popular, which I though should lead to the topic on Helicopter vs. Plane. This was a good touch on comparing the types and the advantage of helicopter in aerial seeding. Covering the seeding requirements such as soil conditions and timing was very pertinent in this topic; maybe more information should be added? You did, though, touch on the soil moisture and how important it is. Mentioning the surface conditions and timing of seeding and rates was a great touch because it allow readers to know that seeding is not as simple as releasing of the seeding, but conditions are very important. I can tell a lot of work and time was put into this page. You did a great job since this is still a work in progress. Maybe you should nominate your article for Good Article status after a few more editing?Aduong0424 (talk) 22:33, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- Might be worth looking into this for the next edit, "John Clervaux Chaytor" there are a number of sources claiming he started experimenting with aerial seeding as far back as 1906 47.72.91.203 (talk) 07:26, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
