The Long Island Oasis section is in serious need of a rewrite/reorganization. At one point, there are five short sentences in a row that each start with "Then in...", and nearly every sentence either starts with "Then", "Then in" or "In". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.160.181.204 (talk) 00:26, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Original research, Futrell source that can't be found and excessive details

[edit]

The general references section includes two problem items:

  • Employees
  • New York Amusement Park, by Jim Futrell

Employees are not published sources and instead indicate content is based on original research. Wikipedia content is a summary of what published sources say about a subject. Content based on employee recollections should be removed.

Jim Futrell does have a book titled "Amusement parks of New York" but "New York Amusement Park" does not seem to exist.

Listing every ride and game available at Adventureland plus the long list of former rides and attractions seems excessive. The article should mention individual items that have independent coverage. Listing everything looks promotional. Gab4gab (talk) 15:49, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This AfD discussion ended with a "merge." However, I found that the relevant material was already here at the target article. This is a link to the source just before it was converted to a redirect [1], if someone wants to pull any other content over here. Joyous! Noise! 01:55, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Former name of Adventureland

[edit]

While looking for information concerning the former name of Adventureland I was surprised to see that there was no mention of what I clearly remember it to be between the mid 1960s into the mid 1970s. I could still see the sign right at the foot of Route 110 in my mind today and it clearly was called Adventurer's Inn with the image of a young boy who very closely resembled Peter Pan on the sign next to the name. I was surprised that I hadn't seen any mention about that name even when they talked about the former name which included the words Route 110 but clearly nothing about what I remember it being called.
