Would anyone care to provide an image of a commercial calendar
[edit]The abundance of hand-made calendars seems WP:UNDUE. It would be good to have a photo of a commercial calendar or even a display of several. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:50, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
Chocolate
[edit]Could someone add a mention of chocolate advent calendars? Maybe they are just a UK thing but most people I know (at least when they were children) had advent calendars with chocolate inside. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.15.236.218 (talk) 23:39, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- It's brief but there: "or a small gift, such as a toy or a chocolate item." If you have an addition that you would like to suggest, feel free to add it. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:57, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
The phrase "early doors"
[edit]The phrase "early doors" - meaning early on or near the start of a process - comes from advent calendars. The period when the first (few) doors on it are opened. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr gobrien (talk • contribs) 20:30, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- I've never head the phrase. If you want that added to the article, you'll need to have it sourced. Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:16, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
Actually I've done more research and "early doors" originates from early after a venue opens its doors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr gobrien (talk • contribs) 22:17, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
Advent candle in gallery
[edit]I propose that the image of the Advent candle be removed for the simple reason that it is not a calendar – in a gallery of calendars.
I further propose that it be replaced with a link to Advent candle (which happens to contain the same image) in the See also section.
If there are no objections in a month's time, I would be happy to do so myself. 1980fast (talk) 01:48, 28 November 2019 (UTC)
