Potential conflict of interest

[edit]

As per WP:COI, I'm declaring that I consider the subject of this article to be a personal friend of mine. Edits and discussions I make may need to be considered in this light, although I fully intend to abide by the WP:COI policies to avoid this. me_and (talk) 13:13, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Empire in Black and Gold is tagged as potentially not meeting the notability guidelines, but I believe contains useful information that should be merged into this article, specifically about Tchaikovsky himself in the article lead, and possibly about the Shadows of the Apt series in general.

I'm happy to do this if there are no objections, although as noted above, I have a possible conflict of interest. If I do perform the merge, I'll make sure any non-trivial edits are performed using Template:Request edit. It may also be some time before I get to actually performing the merge.

I will do the merge. But there isn't much cited information in Empire in Black and Gold. Much of it is OR/inuniverse descriptions--Sodabottle (talk) 13:22, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
All Done. BTW Meand, Can you request Adrian to release CC Licenced image for illustrating this article?.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:14, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fantastic! Thank you for the speedy action. I'll ask next time I see him if he has a photo (or if I can take one) to be used. me_and (talk) 14:19, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NOT a pseudonym

[edit]

This page is inaccurate as Tchaikovsky is not a pseudonym (not being a change of name or having any intent to conceal the author's identity); it is merely a transliteration of the author's surname Czajkowski.

To be precise, it is the French transliteration of the cyrillic spelling of this name. In fact, its whole purpose is to make his real name easy for most people to pronounce - to make his identity more obvious, not less.

This page should therefore be amended. 147.188.163.24 (talk) 12:55, 31 August 2011 (UTC)pjs[reply]

I have removed the "pseudonym" part.--Sodabottle (talk) 13:04, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Shadows of the Apt: Human, not humanoid

[edit]

The people in the book Shadows of the Apt are human, and not just humanoid, and are often referred to as such in the books, they were however referred to in the article as humanoid. I have changed the article to this effect. If you believe this is incorrect please discuss. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.30.75.191 (talk) 20:55, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Categorization of Ironclads

[edit]

I've just added Ironclads to the "Short stories" section. However, it's a novella, so might be better off placed in the novels section, or creating another section? (I'm thinking of the context of awards categories (e.g. the Hugos), where novels, novellas and short stories are separately categorized.) ErsatzCulture (talk) 13:47, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've now created a novellas section now that he has 4 of these out there.ErsatzCulture (talk) 23:57, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Employment

[edit]

As of December 2018 he is now a full-time writer, not still working a day job as a lawyer as the article says. From his blog: http://shadowsoftheapt.com/blog/2257 10:25, 18 July 2019 (MST)
