Mnemonics
[edit]I have just rv additions to the mnemonics section by a new user. But, I see that there are already some mnemonics here. Since there is no way of providing references for these, practically, anything goes! Can these stay?Prashanthns (talk) 20:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
no es verdad
- Wikipedia is used by people as a learning aide. That is its purpose. Students in particular refer to Wikipedia for clarification of course material. Mnemonics, whiceh can be found throughout Wikipedia, are useful to the community as they help provide reinforcement of topics. They cannot always be referenced, that is true. Some sort of disclaimer may be appended to mnemonic sections. However, if the mnemonic is not introducing new information and is only working off of already provided/referenced material, it should be fair.Saurabh523 (talk) 20:19, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- True, but there's a consensus not to include them, as they really have no value to the average reader. See this discussion, for example. Wikipedia is not written for the convenience of medical students. WhatamIdoing (talk) 05:29, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- Great. I was looking around for that kind of consensus before removing them. Thanks. But since there was a whole section, did not want to remove it without presenting the consensus.Prashanthns (talk) 06:34, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
