Neutrality in this Article?
[edit]Macromedia FreeHand has an opening alert that asks for further discussion on a major contributor to this article. The contributer has a close connection with its subject; meaning a FreeHand professional. From what I read, the neutral point of view seems adequate and supporting citations adhere to the statements made. I am not that major contributer but I did make some deletions earlier that were questionable. What do you all think? Can the alert be removed? --Maeric9 (talk) 23:25, 16 March 2011 (UTC)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Maeric9 (talk • contribs) 21:12, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- The reason I added the COI tag to article was because of the contributions of the user Freefreehand (talk · contribs) (who is now blocked). If you believe the neutrality is OK then I have no objections to you going ahead and removing the tag. OSborn arfcontribs. 23:37, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, that reasoning is understandable and as a Freehand software user myself (and contributer here), I went through the article and re-confirmed citations and looked for any possible bias issues; it all seems neutral enough. As I posted above, I removed some questionable references toward FreeFreehand.org (as can be seen in the edit history.)
- I will remove the COI tag today. --Maeric9 (talk) 18:53, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Need to remove excess references to FreeFreehand organization, especially at end of this article under "Future?" This appears to be irrelevant data?

DONE. References removed. --Maeric9 (talk) 17:50, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
The main title should not be Adobe Freehand. This product is never sold under that name. It is bought by Adobe, but the box you get when you buy it still reads Macromedia Freehand. They did nothing to the product at all. Maybe it is better to remove any brand name in front of the title, just change the Wikipedia name to Freehand (computer software) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.123.41.150 (talk) 21:33, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
Petition
[edit]How about starting a petition for a universal binary version of the program?
Done. See this link: http://www.freefreehand.org/ --69.115.221.21 (talk) 02:36, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
There is perfect working solutions right up to today. You can either run Freehand Windows (in Vine or Virtual Box) if you are on intel, or up to 10.6 using Rosetta, and after 10.6 with 10.6 Server in Virtual Box. Either way, Freehand is still useful as a modern design program thanks to seamless app running in virtualisation. You only face a 32 character file name limit. That's no big deal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.123.41.150 (talk) 21:37, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

Inconsistent Licensing Reasons
[edit]The Article Altsys mentions that a license exclusion prevented the transfer of FreeHand (formerly Virtuoso) to Adobe. The Article Adobe FreeHand states that the FTC took action to prevent a transfer of FreeHand to Adobe in course of Adobe acquiring Aldus in 1994. This is inconsistent and should be corrected and backed with appropriate sources. --Poc (talk) 09:42, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
