Medical doctor??
[edit]- Lede claims that he is a "medical doctor," that needs a source. book by Raphael Israeli cited later in the article says that he "studied medicine" before moving to Vienna, whether that means that he is a physician, or, perhaps, decided not to finish that degree is unclear, but unless we can find a source it needs to be removed for the article.E.M.Gregory (talk) 11:38, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
Mujtahid, creed??
[edit]Seem way more interesting than whether he is a medical professional, considering there are very few mujtahideen in modern times. Creed would also need substantiation considering what the rest of the article says. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:67C:10EC:2A49:8000:0:0:97 (talk) 15:06, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
Stoning
[edit]As far as I can understand from his lecture about stoning. His argument is not based mainly on twatur vs. ahad, but rather on the fact that Al Nur Chapter in Quran (one of the last suras to be revealed) didn't mention stoning as a punishment. While all Hadiths talking about the stoning were said before this sura and they seem to be based on the laws of the previous nations (jews and christians) before the Islamic laws became complete. A similar opinion was given by other scholars like Yusuf al-Qaradawi.--وسام زقوت (talk) 04:19, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
"Philosopher"?
[edit]No reliable sources or citations have been noted to show in what capacity he can be called a philosopher, nor is this at all clear from his education or his career in university philosophy departments. The article needs rewriting and proper sources and citations added, and all the promotional and un-substantiated claims removed (CleanUpWP (talk) 23:03, 16 July 2017 (UTC))
- There are no sources at all that give evidence that he was educated in a philosophical discipline, nor that he is a philosopher, nor that he taught philosophy at any university. There are also no publications connected with him in any academic journal or with recognized academic publishers. So the claim about being a philosopher has to be deleted. There are many other issues and claims that need serious editing if such article survives a call for deletion (CleanUpWP (talk) 16:53, 17 July 2017 (UTC))
