units US vs SI

since this island is in the united states, shouldn't the primary descriptions (such as size) be expressed in square miles, not square KM with the other in () ? I seem to recall a WP rule that units should be expressed locally. cOrneLlrOckEy (talk) 01:53, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
