as noted in http://www.vh1.com/news/articles/1121689/20000630/id_0.jhtml, addicted to noise was a pioneering web magazine in its day and an important if small part of early web history. Slamorte (talk) 19:49, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]@Neumu1: Re the discussion on your talk page: I see what you mean, but your recent edits tilt the article's balance too far towards yourself and your own accomplishments, and thus serve as a means of self-promotion. I'm not too comfortable with it, but I could see adding a single sentence along the lines of: "Goldberg went on to a music and culture blog, Days of the Crazy Wild, and publishes a column in the Australian Addicted to Noise, while Jon Luini now does [whatever John Luini does now]". Having John Luini in there balances it out so that the focus isn't solely about a single founder, and instead is simply describing what each of the founders are doing these days (per your argument) in an unbiased way. Would this work for you? Thanks. Brycehughes (talk) 21:21, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Bryce, Yes, that would be great. I'm in total agreement. Do I need to find out what Jon is up to? Neumu1 (talk) 21:38, 17 October 2013 (UTC) Michael Goldberg
- No need, I googled him. How do you like the addition? Brycehughes (talk) 00:11, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi Bryce, Your addition on Oct 18 is great. I'm really pleased. Regarding my addition last night. If you go to this page: http://web.archive.org/web/20000815064446/http://www.addict.com/issues/archive/ and you will see a listing for an article by William Gibson and if you click on 1995 (upper left) and scroll down and link on issue # 1.12 (the Frank Kozik story) and then scroll to the bottom and click on the 3rd icon from the right (contents) you will see articles and columns for that issue. You'll see that there were pieces by Greil Marcus, Dave Marsh, David Was, Billy Altman, Roy Trakin, R. Meltzer and other name critics. Then if you click on 44.1 (it's in the contents) you will get a page of album review links with reviews by Deborah Frost, Chris Morris and others. If you go to issue 1.09 and get to the table of contenst and click on staff you'll see Lenny Kaye and some of the other writers. If you go to issue 2.09 and click on the table of congtenst link on the bottom of one of the articles and then in the hype section click on staff you will see Joey Ramone listed as a contributor. I hope that provides what you need. Thanks, Neumu1 (talk) 16:26, 20 October 2013 (UTC) Michael
- The link is currently down, but I'll take your word for it. You're welcome to re-add the information of course – just make sure you cite your sources. If you're using the "edit source" button to edit, you can use "ref" tags like this: <ref>http://web.archive.org/web/20000815064446/http://www.addict.com/issues/archive/</ref>. (That's the manual way, anyway – there's other ways to do them but I'm unfamiliar with them.) Here's a beginning how-to guide: Help:Referencing for beginners; and a more advanced one: Wikipedia:Citing sources. Let me know if you need help. Brycehughes (talk) 05:58, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
Is Addicted To Noise Still alive?
[edit]Is Addicted To Noise Still alive? The beginning of the article reads as if it is not. Presumably it is in Australia?
There is a website, but the story of how it survived or was reborn is not in the Wikipedia article? Its current status would be worth setting out in the article.
