Minor biographical details requested

If anyone knows his middle name, hometown, year of birth, date of birth, or any other biographical information, please add it --User:Carie 20:41, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Mr. Powell hasn't responded to my e-mail, but I'll surmise from the "my" in this edit summary that User:Borovan2000 is he, and because I'd really wanted to remove that IP. --AySz88^-^
Yea that's why I archived the talk page, to hide his email. -User:Carie
Confirmed by e-mail. --AySz88^-^ 17:50, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Going Live! ?

...from a late-80s sketch on British saturday morning TV featuring the comedians Trevor and Simon.

Looking at the articles, staring with Trevor and Simon, could this be Going Live! perhaps? --AySz88^-^ 22:34, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

I think it was before Going Live! I can't really remember that far back, and I've searched Google but cannot find a thing on Borovan. Maybe it was a figment of my imagination! --User:borovan2000

Asparagus Neopets

"On Mr. Powell's birthday, every Neopet becomes asparagus!"

I believe this was a one-time thing. I am on Neopets every day (yes yes, I know) and I am pretty certain that this did not happen in 2005. I'm hoping to get some confirmation though, or maybe the year that it did happen. - Pikestaff 02:45, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Removed for now. --AySz88^-^ 21:05, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Photo?

Are there any photos of this person for this article? The current image really doesn't make it. --Bobadot 00:51, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

I really think we should get an /actual photo/ of Adam Powell, as the current image is pixelized and cartoony. Kariià Deranged Ramblings 16:43, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Does anyone have a proper picture of Adam Powell? We also need one for Donna Williams.Serenacw 04:03, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
I'm not positive, but there may be 2 images of him which are provided via neocam. Also, Donna Williams article already has a proper picture, which was provided by a user who met her during a tour in Singapore. --Joe Somebody 19:04, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
I'll give Adam a shout when he's next online and see if he minds me providing a picture of him for Wikipedia. Donna W still looks mostly like her current picture :) --andyfwp 11:12, 10 July 2007 (BST)

Citation for IQ?

Does anyone actually have evidence for the statement: "He is also a former member of MENSA with an IQ of 174". If not, it could really be considered nonesense since this site and pinkpt.com (a copy of this article) are the only places on the internet where this is mentioned.

This information was added by Adam Powell (Borovan2000) himself, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Adam_Powell&diff=36404598&oldid=36403655
If we can't trust the subject of this article, who can we trust? -Benbread 15:26, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
As much as I'd like to believe Adam Powell has an IQ greater than that of Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin and Plato I believe the likelihood is that this is one of his "jokes".
After all he said he was messing about to see what he could add and how the site worked.
I personally doubt borovan2000 is borovan. I think he is a lying attention-seeker. J.J.Sagnella 05:55, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Mr. Powell replied to my e-mail confirming his identity. I also independently verified his connection with the e-mail address he gave. --AySz88^-^ 06:00, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Whether it is him or not, I still believe it is false information. I also fail to see why the real Adam Powell would give his real email address to someone he didn't personally know.
Believe it or not, when Neopets was small, staff and players were pretty close.
As for the information, the "citation needed" tag is probably enough. --AySz88^-^ 04:29, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
The "citation needed" tag can't be used when the information is quite likely fabricated. It is only supposed to be a temporary measure. Like the rules state "Content must not violate any copyright and must be verifiable." This is NOT verifiable. In fact the complete opposite.
<-
I really doubt that it was fabricated, and I see no reason why someone else wouldn't find out for themselves and verify it sometime in the future. What if we say "Powell claims to have an IQ of 174" instead, which is certainly true and verifiable right now? Though, I don't know if we can cite that diff (it'd be kinda odd).
Also, keep in mind that IQ scales very between U.S. and Europe, so his 174 might be in the U.S. equivalent of around 144, which is somewhat more modest (by two U.S. standard deviations). --AySz88^-^ 05:26, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Changed. --AySz88^-^ 21:05, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Most people in the U.K. these days use the Stanford-Binet IQ test (Standard deviation = 16, same as in U.S.) as opposed to a standard deviation = 24 test (Cattell IIIB) which is what causes the discrepancies. Anyway, I like your idea about putting: "Powell claims to have an IQ of 174". However, we still don't have a reference and it's edging a bit on opinions instead of fact. Any other suggestions? I think we should use yours AySz88 unless someone comes up with a miracle citation.

I went to School with him. Yes he does have an IQ of 174.

Sure. "Citation: Random anonymous person with no known credibility" wouldn't exactly qualify. Chrishy Man 21:31, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Just wanted to say, you cannot lookup a player profile (borovan in this case) if you are not logged in into Neopets. But I don't know if such links stay in the English WP.In the German WP,they don't,but I don't know the english rules.Could please somebody fix it if necassary?--84.60.241.93 12:55, 26 July 2006 (UTC)(de:Benutzer:Medici)

Ah, that is a problem. Sadly, I have no idea either, and I never encountered that problem, because I am a member of Neopets. Chrishy Man 21:30, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

it's five?

How does he have five pets? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 151.200.48.107 (talk) 13:42, 22 January 2007 (UTC).

Though you need to log in to see it, his user account shows 5 pets instead of the limited number 4. --Joe Somebody 19:04, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

I don't think that "borovan" is Adam's real Neopets account because of these reasons: One; when you go to his shop, it says: "The shop description was considered to be innapropriate and removed" Two: he has only 31 secret avatars. 70.106.216.156 21:34, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

It has to be, Donna only has 14 secret avatars, but both his account and Donna's account have different things next to "Last Spotted", and his account was created on November 13, 1999 which was two days before Neopets even started. 3bay sam 17:38, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

orly?

>As of July 2007, Powell and his girlfriend Donna are no longer employed by Neopets. They are currently living in >Richmond, Surrey.

Citation? This is causing Ominous Rumours in the Neopets forum.

Haha why would anybody make up something so random? Yes, it's true. Although I'm not sure what source you could use other than me scanning in my council tax bill (probably not a good idea). —Preceding unsigned comment added by borovan2000 (talkcontribs) 00:39, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

They never had an romance, did they? Who posted up above? Wait, don't tell me Adam Powell? *rolls eyes*207.177.111.152 01:04, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

That's ridiculous. seriously. Anybody could put that previous sentence up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.53.133.219 (talk) 21:23, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
