D O B

[edit]

Hi, I know what your saying about Adam's date of birth, however i'm his dad and i can tell you without contradiction he was born 18th October 1993. Andy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andy80214 (talkcontribs) 21:12, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, If you can tell me what you require to make Adams page accurate then i can provide it. --Andy80214 (talk) 21:28, 22 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Andy80214: - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information; this is especially important about living people (for obvious reasons). If there are no websites which detail the correct DOB, but you have evidence (birth certificate etc.) then you might want to contact WP:OTRS. GiantSnowman 12:33, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The date of birth was added to the article in this edit. Neither reference used in that version currently supports that date of birth. There's a good chance that the sources that do claim the date used Wikipedia to do so. I would remove the date altogether until the situation is cleared up. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:52, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I can confirm that, when I added the source, the 1994 DOB was included in this source. The 1994 DOB is also used by Harrogate Town, Soccerbase and Soccerway. It is possible that those 3 sources copied the SAFC source - and that the SAFC source has since removed the DOB as the DOB has been questioned. GiantSnowman 18:58, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously I can't tell from here what the correct DoB should be, but if his SAFC profile is correct that he began a two-year scholarship in summer 2010, he can't have been born in December 1994. Someone born in Dec 94 would have been 15-and-a-half and coming up to year 11 at school in summer 2010, which would be a year too early to start a club scholarship. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 19:15, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
ESPN says the date his father claims – 18 October 1993. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 11:58, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
They also have him playing for NZ U17 in 2013. Probably need a more definitive reference. Hack (talk) 12:03, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, ESPN appear to have mixed him up with this player. GiantSnowman 12:14, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed the DOB to the 1993 one, per an official Sunderland publication. GiantSnowman 20:53, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Number of appearances

[edit]

Hi again, I have tried to edit the number of appearances Adam made whilst on loan to Harrogate Town FC but they have been undone, He played in the following games

1 Oxford City (H) League

2 Bradford P.A. (A) West Riding County Cup

3 Worcester City (H) League

4 Bradford P.A. (H) F.A. Trophy 3rd round

5 Bradford P.A. (A) F.A. Trophy 3rd round (replay)

6 Workington (A) League

Hope this helps

Hi @Andy80214: - do you have any websites/match reports etc. which verify the three Cup games? I note that Soccerway does already count the 3 league games. GiantSnowman 12:33, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

games played

[edit]

Hi if you go to the harrogate town web Link below this shows the appearances, started 2 league games came on as sub for 1, started 2 cup games came on as a sub for 1 then if you go to there fixtures page click on November 13 the games are all there and each gives the names of players. Im not being pedantic but information is to be put into the public domain then it should be correct.

i do want his DOB to be corrected also, i have found a sunderland annual with his right DOB in it, for some reason the sunderland web site put the wrong DOB on it and also had him as a republic of ireland player, an e-mail did get this corrected, they do not show DOB for youth U21 player at the moment.

PS is this page private?

Hi @Andy80214:, thanks for that link, I have updated the source accordingly. What I propose now is asking for further input from WP:BLPN and WP:FOOTY regarding the date of birth, I have asked people to join in this conversation here - and no, this page is not private. If you have anything private to say please feel free to e-mail me. GiantSnowman 18:34, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information not tallying up

[edit]

I was going to help out with this one but decided not to edit the article because the information that I found doesn't tally up. The FA website lists his full name as Adam John Mitchell. So I looked it up on a records website to see if there were any matches and I couldn't find one, presumably he was born outside of England (some sources originally said Ireland), or with another middle name or surname.

These are the results from the records website:

Adam William Mitchell Oct-93 Hillingdon Middlesex
Adam James Mitchell Oct-93 Chester and Ellesmere Port Cheshire
Adam James Mitchell Oct-93 South East Hampshire Hampshire
Adam Alfred Mitchell Oct-93 Worcester Worcestershire

TheBigJagielka (talk) 13:40, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

ENFA gives him with no middle name, apparently. GiantSnowman 18:36, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
