Arguments over the matter may not be over. Adam Dread of Nashville, a member of that city's beer board and former councilman, said he believes a separate state law may give city governments the right to enact an ordinance forbidding guns in places that serve beer. The statute in question authorizes local rules that go beyond general law if they "promote public health, morals and safety," Dread told The Nashville Post.

Retained after AfD process in December 2009
[edit]This article was the subject of an Articles for deletion process at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adam Dread as of December 2009, and the result was to retain the article. As noted by the tags, there are serious issues of self-promotion involved. I deleted the article recently without being aware of the AfD and have restored it; however, this article has serious problems and I think I may see if someone is willing to take a hand to rein it in from its strenuous self-promotion. I've cut a couple of paragraphs of significantly non-useful material (if there is a reason why we should know the names of the films in which this man was an extra, I am hard-pressed to think of it; the rest was at a similar level of cruft). Accounting4Taste:talk 18:15, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
- And, since it did recently pass AfD as noted above, applying a speedy deletion tag is inappropriate. As I understand it, if someone wants this article deleted, the way to move forward is by starting another AfD process; neither speedy nor prod tags should be used. I have just removed a speedy tag for that reason. Accounting4Taste:talk 15:38, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- That doesn't mean, however, that tags indicating a conflict of interest can be removed by an editor with the same name as the article's subject, nor a tag indicating that clean-up is required can be removed without any improvement to the article. I'm starting to think that this article is so seriously problematic that another AfD may be required. Accounting4Taste:talk 22:58, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
