– These seven nominations were considered for separate submissions, but were bundled into a single nomination because they represent titles of works by the same artist under Category:Paintings by George Washington Lambert. The argument that the lowercase form should be retained since it represents the original title of the work did not prevail in a similar 2013 discussion at Talk:A Boy Was Born#Requested move (the 1934 composition was originally referenced as A Boy was Born). The counter-argument is that in earlier eras orthography was not standardized and initial caps were used in a random and inconsistent fashion, but that for Wikipedia purposes, MOS:CT prevails. — Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 22:18, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- I have read MOS:CAPTITLES and WP:NCCAPS (advocates of maximal capitalisation); In 2021 there is so much overcapitalisation which serve no validity in a typewritten and electronic world. Italics or quotes succinctly identify a works. Despite the Wiki-standards, Lambert titled his works as he felt they should, capitalising only proper nouns ('When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.').—Q8682 (talk) 00:25, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support all of these are about specific paintings not a type of painting so should be in title case. I might not capitalize "is" but per Talk:Hearts Are Trumps#Requested move 4 December 2020 it appears it should be. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:05, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support – Follow WP style guidelines, which specify capping words in work titles. Dicklyon (talk) 05:15, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
