grammar trouble among the false claims
[edit]The article currently contains this putative sentence:
- He falsely claimed to be an "ambassador for the Republic of San Marino", the author of Maritime Registries of the World and The Wonders of Italy, and to serve on a committee of the National Portrait Gallery in London.[1][2]
It contains two occurrences of the conjunction "and", which is quite a few. But it actually needs a third.
- One joins two verbs: "He claimed to be [. . .] and to serve [. . .]".
- One joins the two objects of the preposition "of": "the author of "Maritime Registries" and "The Wonders of Italy".
- One (currently missing) joins two predicate nominatives: "claimed to be an ambassador and the author".
I supplied the missing one, but it was removed. I'll put it back with a link to this discussion. If you aren't clear on why it's needed, let's talk about it here. TypoBoy (talk) 23:06, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
