Move?
- The original request was to histmerge Ace Hotels to Ace Hotel. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 20:56, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- This is the correct name for the company. Content has been moved from Ace Hotels page. I am employed by this company. Please do not redirect to Ace Hotels or Ace hotel, or delete this page. 19:56, 19 May 2009 User:Orangejuice1
- The last non-redirect edits of both pages look the same. WP:MOSTM? There are more than one Ace Hotel in this chain, so most English-speakers are likely to call them the Ace Hotels in the plural. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 20:54, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- I suggested that on orangejuices talkpage (view the history), I took the easy way out and listed it for a history merge, but maybe its best to just redirect all the page to Ace Hotels (with the plural) SpitfireTally-ho! 21:05, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- In short I would support leaving the page at Ace Hotels and redirecting all the other to it, SpitfireTally-ho! 21:15, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I've been bold and redirected it, if anyone disagrees with this please open a discussion at WP:RFD, and do drop me a note telling me you have done so if you do. I'm going to bed now, this has already kept me up too late, but again, please do not revert my redirecting of the page, instead open a discussion at the correct venue, thanks SpitfireTally-ho! 21:35, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Ace Hotel is the proper name of this company. There are NOT multiple "Ace Hotels". There are multiple Ace Hotel locations, but these are never referred to as different "Ace Hotels". There are many Mariott hotel locations but their page is not titled "Mariotts". It is confusing because the common noun "Hotel" is in our name, but "Ace" is not its adjective. I work for this company and can confirm that "Ace Hotels" is improper usage. 01:02, 22 May 2009 User:Notbot
- Hello Spitfire, I work along side User:OrangeJuice1 at the Ace Hotel and can confirm that "Ace Hotels" is improper and misleading. I have started a discussion at WP:RFD. We appreciate all the time you have already spent on this issue. Please help us get it right if you have another moment. Thanks Notbot (talk) 01:28, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- You can also request a move at WP:RM. JulieSpaulding (talk) 08:55, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- Done by someone. (Anthony Appleyard (talk) 10:03, 22 May 2009 (UTC))

- This seems to be changing the meaning of the word "hotel". To most people "Ace Hotel" means "a hotel named 'Ace'", and a hotel (in the singular) is one building or group of buildings, not a scatter of buildings over several states. The case of Mariott International is not the same, as "mariott" with lowercase 'm' is not a generic noun meaning "hotel". Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:48, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- Please see the listing for Standard Hotel on Wikipedia for the proper precedent to make this change. As it says on their listing " The Standard Hotel is a group of four boutique hotels in Los Angeles (Hollywood and Downtown LA), Miami and New York" In the same way that Ace Hotel is the proper name for the Ace Hotel brand, Standard Hotel is the proper name for the Standard Hotel brand. In order to keep things consistent on Wikipedia, Ace Hotels should be changed to Ace Hotel as well. 70.102.40.114 (talk) 21:21, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- I would for one be happy to have the page moved to Ace Hotel as suggested, not really bothered, I don't think that a page name is of huge matter, some fair points have been made as to why the page should be moved, so I'm happy to go along with it, all the best SpitfireTally-ho! 17:31, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have closed this as a non controversial request and per correct name of company. I have performed the move. Mfield (Oi!) 00:33, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

The interior decorating philosophy of a single property in a hotel chain seems to be more specific than necessary. Bluecanary99 (talk) 20:17, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
