– Proposing these two as test cases: if these moves are agreed then we can move all other cases of these two capitalisations to "Xyz Built-up area". I propose this because it is the form used by ONS, and it indicates that we are not just talking about the area perceived to be built up, but a specific unit defined by ONS as the "Built-up area". The capital "B" avoids ambiguity. We have at present a mix of the three capitalisations, and consistency would be better. There is a further question as to whether "Xxx Urban area" and "Xxx urban area" should be moved and edited to "Xxx Built-up area", to be discussed separately. Comment by proposer I intend this move request to cover all the "B/built-up A/area" titles in Category:Urban areas of England. It didn't seem necessary to list them all here individually. PamD 22:22, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nomis uses "Accrington/Rossendale Built-up area" mind you it also uses "Preston Patrick Parish" even though "parish" clearly isn't part of the name/a proper noun. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:36, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Capital letters says do not capitalise without very good reason. The discussion so far hasn't demonstrated substantial use of capitals in external sources other than NOMIS (which seems a bit free with them, per C,S comment). --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 08:13, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
