Should this be on the National Register of Historic Places category?

[edit]

The is an interesting quandry. This building burned more than 100 years ago and the only remnant are the columns (which of course are among the most recognizable landmarks in the state). The Francis Quadrangle which includes the columns is on the Register. For what it's worth the official applications for National Register in Boone County is http://www.dnr.mo.gov/shpo/Boone.htm My knee jerk interpretation is that it should be knocked off but I would curious to hear other opinions.Americasroof (talk) 17:46, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, the columns are listed as a contributing structure to the historic district. My instinct would be to include it as part of the district since there is not another page for the columns. Also, for instance, Jesse Hall is not on the register itself, but is listed as a contributing building, of course Jesse is much more historic and notable than many a building on the register. I really have no strong opinion on the category though. Grey Wanderer (talk) 04:32, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have a strong opinion either. I posted the question on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places more than two weeks ago. The only response so far is from HornofColumbia which noted the Columns red link on the Francis Quadrangle article should redirect to Academic Hall.Americasroof (talk) 20:04, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I replied just now at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places#Question about destroyed building where the ruins are on the register. --doncram (talk) 08:05, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
