POV sign

[edit]

Placing a POV sign on the article. Reasons:

  • No reason is given for calling SAF "conservative-leaning". According to their website, SAF "is a clearing house and communications center for a national coalition of student organizations whose goal is to end the political abuse of the university and to restore integrity to the academic mission as a disinterested pursuit of knowledge." - doesn't include political affiliation.
  • Horowitz is called "talk-show pundit and right-wing activist", whereby his own article begins with "an American conservative writer and activist".
  • "many identify as a highly specific ideological agenda" doesn't say who these are, and what is the size of the other groups (those in favor or those indifferent).
  • Only "Criticism" section is present, but no "Support", which by now is present.
  • The Criticism section does not contain responses from the proponents of the bill, which are available.

I support this POV tag for the following reasons:

The criticism section also indulges in the very kind of namby pamby totalitarian tactics that Horowitz condemns. Notice there are no specific statements that state what these groups find objectionable or why. There is merely the usual mindless opinion of this group or that group. At bare minimum there should by some specific criticisms here that are relevant to to the positions shown in Horowitz's bill of rights. It might also be nice to see what are the positions and names of those groups who support his Bill of Rights.

I'm doing POV tag cleanup - I'm leaving these as they are unaddressed issues here. However, remember to SIGN and DATE your post with four tildes, thus:Jjdon (talk) 21:06, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Restoring POV tag

[edit]

This article is more about criticism than about the subject. Let's see more details of what Horowitz and his supporters allege and propose.68.4.200.35 (talk) 00:53, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
